With the intention of entering into negotiations to conclude, renew or amend an international agreement, the relevant committee may decide to prepare a report or to follow up on the preparatory phase. The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACAC) was rejected by the European Parliament in July 2012. ACTA is an international agreement (relating to the protection of intellectual property rights) between the EU, its Member States and ten other countries.
